Luxe Magazine is a bi-monthly publication which launched in 2009. It was born from the desire to showcase the very best the North East region has to offer and over the past 14 years has established itself as the region’s dedicated voice of authority on luxury, style and living. Luxe has championed its Regional, Relevant and Entertaining philosophy for over a decade, both informing and influencing its readers. The original team who launched Luxe hailed from Room501 publishing and the title has been entwined in the careers of Allies Group senior managers ever since. In that time it has also been accepted as one of the most influential publications throughout the region. 

Luxe Magazine is Allies Group’s own title with an average readership of 50,000. It features the region’s most influential people in a publication carefully crafted for a targeted audience with high spending power. Lifestyle content covers interviews with well-known faces, as well as the best in food, arts and culture, fashion, beauty, interiors, motors and places to visit. Luxe is hand-delivered to postcode sectors with an average house value of £1m, luxury venues throughout the region and a list of long standing loyal subscribers.

Challenges

Initially the challenge was to establish Luxe Magazine as an authority in the North East luxury publication sector. To achieve this the Luxe Magazine team have to consistently produce a magazine that is high quality in production and content.

The approach has been and always will be to offer exclusive, considered and entertaining content which will appeal to a high-spending demographic aged 35 plus. The brief is always based on audience and customer retention while ensuring high standards at all times – across both the print publication and our digital channels. 

Solution

To build an authority and reputation of being a luxury North East publication requires a talented team of journalists to produce high quality, unique and engaging content. 

Over years of engaging with the North East region, Luxe Magazine has built a loyal relationship with its readers and advertisers. It has become the North East’s leading regional lifestyle publication and strives to make every edition exactly that. It’s the reader’s guide to ‘living the Luxe life’. They have compiled a highly targeted distribution model, backed by the regularly updated website and social channels; all of which provide a unique and unrivalled platform for advertising, sponsorship and editorial support.

Results

As Luxe Magazine has established its enviable reputation, it has been able to feature an array of cover stars including Alan Shearer, Dame Joanna Lumley, Vic Hope, George Clarke, Chris Kamara, Ben Stokes, Ant & Dec, Brian Blessed, Hayley McQueen, Sarah Millican, Mary Berry and Robson Green over the years. These A lister stars have partnered with us to share their lives and stories.

With a readership of over 50,000 people per issue, Luxe shines a light on stylish, luxurious, and unique happenings in the region, while celebrating the fantastic people proud to be associated with Northumberland, Tyneside, Durham, Wearside, Tees Valley, and North Yorkshire. It has been awarded the accolade “North East magazine of the Year” and is considered a must-read for those interested in interviews with well-known faces, as well as the best in food, fashion, interiors, beauty, motors, and places to visit.

Hand-delivered to handpicked homes and businesses, Luxe is both regional and relevant, providing entertaining content that showcases the best of the North East. As of August 2023, Luxe Magazine has produced 82 magazines, that means roughly 4.1 million people have received a copy of Luxe magazine.
