About
Sedbergh School is a co-educational independent boarding school in the town of Sedbergh in Cumbria, in North West England. It comprises a junior school for children aged 4 to 13 and the main school caters for children aged 13 to 18. It was established in 1525 and currently has 720 pupils across both sites.
OBJECTIVE
To increase awareness for the school amongst families interested in an independent education within the region and nationally, in order to increase enquiries and registrations.
What we did
Allies Group developed a highly targeted ad words campaign based around key search terms, both relating to a boarding school education and the location of the school, supplemented with distinctive display and remarketing reflecting the brand character of the school. Alongside this tactical use was made of social media marketing on facebook, which again was highly targeted and based around personas developed by Allies Group, the client already had an extensive following on Twitter.
RESULT
Over the course of a twelve month period the school saw 50% uplift in Web traffic which remained consistent throughout the campaign. This resulted in a 30% uplift in Enquiries, pre qualified by bespoke web-forms which in turn resulted in a 15% uplift in registrations, all families who registered also attended a site visit. The schools pipeline of interested families has grown in line with the growth in registrations not only for the next year of entry but for the next three years of entry. At time of writing the school’s waiting list is the biggest it has ever been.
